Venlo is a city in northern Limburg located on the river 'Maas'. The people of Venlo affectionately call their own town 'The town of fun and pleasure'. The city has a long history and partly because of that, a characteristic city centre. The city still has the old street structure of the Middle Ages, with a 15th-century town hall and winding streets connecting the various squares. The Maasboulevard is a new part of the city centre and has become a real boulevard. It is the place for both young and old, with the beautiful waterfront in summer and a cosy shopping streets in winter.
